Announcing our Spring Workshops! The Open Program at Dancers' Workshop is more than movement. We offer a variety of dance and fitness workshops and ongoing classes, focusing not only on core and cardio but restorative techniques to promote a healthy body and mind.  

Dancers’ Workshop offers a dynamic, integrative approach to the art of teaching. The mind and body must work together to achieve good health using breath, flow, precision, concentration, control and the core. Our attentive and experienced instructors are trained to provide a mindful workout that encompasses strength and agility to support clients in achieving their fitness goals and live pain-free. We strive to promote a friendly, open atmosphere for beginning to advanced students.

Gyrokinesis with Francesca Romo

The Gyrokinesis® Method is a movement method that addresses the entire body, opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. Some of the exercises are performed on low stools while others are done lying down, sitting, or standing. Gyrokinesis movement maximizes the flow of energy through the body leaving you feeling energized, balanced, and grounded.

Pilates + MELT® with Kate Kosharek

A perfect compliment to Pilates, the MELT® method is a neurofascial technique that brings your body back to a more ideal state by directly enhancing body awareness and rehydrating connective tissue. When fascia is properly prepared, the body is able to move with ease in a more ideal alignment to get the most out of the precision and deep core work of Pilates. Open to all levels, this class will seamlessly blend the two techniques using a soft foam roller.

Ecstatic Dance with Ryan Sears

Ecstatic dance is free-form movement where we allow our bodies to express without an agenda or concern for aesthetics. It's a moving meditation practice that merges inner with outer worlds. It encourages and celebrates connection between body and spirit, letting both be your teachers.

Sensation-Based Dance Improvisation with Francesca Romo

This sensation-based work provides a framework for discovering and strengthening your body and adding flexibility, stamina, and agility while lightening the senses and imagination. This type of movement raises awareness of physical weaknesses, awakens numb areas, exposes physical fixations, and offers ways for their elimination. Instincts and impulses are improvised; we become conscious and connect to the primal through our movement. We gain a sense of freedom and pleasure in a simple way, in a pleasant space, in comfortable clothes, accompanied by music, each person with himself and others.

Sass Class with Luke Zender

Sass class is a safe space for both men and women to come and celebrate the feminine side of dance.  We will explore the meaning of sexy and individually redefine for ourselves what sexy and sassy looks like in our own bodies.  The music will be slow and the beats will be heavy.  Be ready to break a sweat and gain a workout through discovering confidence in a way you never thought possible!

Latin Dance Fusion Week with Tika Morgan

San Francisco-based Tika Morgan shares her culturally-rich movements in classes that seek to connect people with the universal world of dance. She teaches with great passion to both current and traditional music. Tika asks people to let go and focus on rhythm, symbology and body awareness. She has a keen intuitive sense in guiding and bringing individual dancers to their potential at any level, even the beginner.

Jackson's Latin dance duo, Rachel and Juan, are both passionate about dance and want to share that passion with you. This workshop is geared towards those who have been dancing Salsa for over a year and want to refine their technique, develop their personal style and gain confidence on the dance floor. The goal is to have fun, let go, prepare to get creative and learn something new. Interested in Bachata too? Join Rachel and Juan for the Intermediate Bachata workshop on Wednesdays, May 9, 16 & 23.

Yoga + MELT® Hand & Foot with Cheryl Davison

A unique class integrating the ancient restorative poses of yoga and the innovative self-care technique of MELT® Hand & Foot. Using specialized MELT® balls to hydrate connective tissue and balance the nervous system, the body is prepared to enhance and deepen your yoga experience. The class will end with a 30-minute guided meditation. Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle.  No open lid containers, please.

Sound Bath with Rachel Holmes

Feel the sounds of the gong, chimes and crystal bowls go through your body. Healing tools for the nervous system, the vibration these instruments emit stimulate the glands so that they function at a higher level, put the mind in a meditative state and lead one in to a state of homeostasis assisting the body in self-generative healing.  If available, please bring a yoga mat, blanket and something to put over your eyes.
