Good morning, As summer begins to come to a close I am filled with gratitude and appreciation for all the adult clients that have come to the studio for private and semi private lessons and have committed to learning about themselves through our various movement modalities and craniosacral work. As Dancers’ Workshop prepares for The School at DW to re-open with in-person classes, I have been marinating on how I will be of service to our youth through our wellness program beyond just being “Miss Fran” - their Modern/Ballet teacher. Let’s face it, becoming a teenager and moving through your teen years can be difficult. This time of growth is filled with many changes in the environment, your responsibilities, and even within your own body. I believe that it’s important to continue to develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors to nurture their well-being. Paying close attention to physical health, mental health, and personal safety can help to pave a way into an adulthood and a future that is full of potential. Wellness matters - not just to the adult community but also to the younger generations that come through The School at Dancers’ Workshop. We look forward to engaging with our students through our various modalities like MELT, Pilates, Gyrotonic and Craniosacral work to encourage curiosity and well-being. In turn, remembering that well-being affects actions and emotions.
