What does it mean to exist?

Existence is a way of living; what you care about and how you go forth in the world defines your way of living.

The right to vote allows citizens a voice to speak out about what they believe in... and also allows each of us to participate in the governance of our country, to have a say in what our country in turn believes in and how the world views us.

One of the most critical ways that individuals can influence governmental decision-making is through voting.

The right to vote should not be taken for granted. Originally under the Constitution, only white male citizens over the age of 21 were eligible to vote. This shameful injustice has been corrected and voting rights have been expanded several times over the course of our history.

Today, citizens over the age of 18 cannot be denied the right to vote, regardless of race, religion, sex, disability or sexual orientation. This path to full voting rights for all American citizens was long and often challenging.

Thank you all for caring deeply about what values you live by. Vote for what you believe in. Defend a way of living… an existence that brings dignity to all Americans.

“The will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government; this will shall be expressed in periodic and genuine elections which shall be by universal and equal suffrage and shall be held by secret ballot or by equivalent free voting procedures." The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 21
