Dance & Movement Outreach in the Community
At Dancers’ Workshop, we believe movement is a powerful tool for a healthy and connected life, for people of all ages.
Our Community Outreach program brings dance and movement experiences beyond the studio, into the broader community. Professional artists and educators at DW work with populations that may have traditionally had fewer opportunities to participate in arts programming, creating accessible experiences that meet people where they are.
Movement Is for Everyone
Our outreach work serves a range of demographics, including:
Elementary school students
Older adults
Teens and young people
Underserved and vulnerable populations
Through dance and other movement-based experiences, participants have opportunities to explore physical expression, discipline, and connection.
Movement as a Tool for Wellbeing
Dance is not only about rigor and performance. Movement helps people feel more connected to their body, creating opportunities for play, self-expression, and physical exercise.
DW’s outreach programs support our belief that movement is medicine.
Community outreach is an important part of Dancers’ Workshop’s mission. By bringing professional artists into schools and community settings, we create opportunities for people to experience the benefits of movement who may not otherwise come to a dance studio.
We are proud to connect dance with the wider Teton County community and to keep expanding the places where movement can thrive.
