It’s all in the glutes! A Pilates and Corrective Exercise workshop with Amy Kingwill

Wednesdays April 17 & 24

5-6:30 pm | Studio 5

Back pain? Knee pain? Bunions? What a pain in the butt! With a passion for all things movement, Amy offers a pilates equipment basics and rehab-based workshop. We’ll be zeroing in on one of her favorite muscle groups and the chain that follows: the glutes! While the focus will be on becoming more aware of and able to access these powerful muscles, we’ll also talk about how much the glutes are connected to overall alignment, and how we can help improve back pain, knee pain, even help with foot pain (especially those struggling with the dreaded bunions!) Come join us for a good time, and leave feeling empowered to use the knowledge you’ve gained not only in your Pilates practice, but daily life. Designed for all levels.

As a movement specialist with over 35 years experience, Amy Kingwill’s Pilates, functional fitness training, and yoga practice all combine to create a supportive base for healthy life-long movement. She brings her love of motion, her kinesthetic awareness, and her inquisitiveness about what bodies can do to assist you in developing a stronger, happier, healthier you. Her focus lies not only in Pilates but in creative but functional movement patterns, rehabilitation, age-related conditioning, all with a healthy dose of humor on top.
Credential highlights include 500 hour Comprehensive Pilates Instructor certification with Body Arts and Science International (BASI), BioMechanics Method Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES with ACE), Certificates in both Pilates in Pregnancy and Beyond and Pilates for Injuries and Pathologies from BASI.
